I worked for many years with US Coast Guard trainees. We always got trainees from each USCG base, so two came from Kodiak and they were always super. Once one of them brought me a tee-shirt from Kodiak Island, I still have it. That is why I was interested in Kodiak Island, it’s because they told me so much about it. I am sure they are gone now, because it has been a long time, but I did work with customer training for 16 years before being promoted to the aircraft spares dept. If there are any old timer left, ask them if they have been to Marietta, GA. they’ll know what company I’m talking about.
WOW, I have been to L's big house in Marietta; back in 1987.
It was a great time. In fact it is the only reason I have picked Georgia as an alternative home site. The food was great, the folks even better.
I could go on, but I won't. I'll just say this. 6000+ hours in the best airplane ever built. Worldwide, in the goo, the crap, and whatever else popped up. LM was always there. If you were part of that team, then Hat's off and thank you very much. there were a couple of times I might not have made it home, if ya'll weren't on the other of the phone, walking us through.
peace
Thanks for your nice comments – yes I worked at LM for almost 27 years
Forgot to tell you I was there in Cust Training in 87, if you came, you saw me.
